外護

(外護, 外护)

External protection, or aid, e. g. food and clothing for monks and nuns, contrasted with the internal aid of the Buddha's teaching.

外即族親眷屬也。 謂人之修行， 須屏絕緣務， 凡有所需衣服飲食湯藥之類， 必藉族親眷屬左右供給， 庶得身心安隱， 成辦道業， 此族親眷屬所以為外護也。

指供給我衣服飲食的親屬檀越， 為二護之一。
